Respected experts, Pl let me know the citation if there are any SC judgment wherein a woman is taken as a 'respondent' under DV Act.

Though various High Courts are divergent in its views regarding making the women as one of the Respondents in proceeding under DV Act, the Supreme Court is yet to pass any order in this regard.
The Supreme Court so far in Batra vs Batra case elaborated on the right to residence order.

Find the attachment latest decided by Bombay HC in which Batra's case is also referred and have given good reasoning how women are included as respondent.

recently a Bench of Madras High court passed order regarding this issue.

Sir, we have quoted Chennai HC and Delhi HC decisions for one case. The judge is saying he is ot interested in looking into those cases. He has asked us to refer to Karnataka HC or SC decisions if any in this matter. His view is that the Act protects "women" from domestic violence. Mother in law and sister in law cannot be respondents.
