Original flat purchase agreement lost; stamp duty and registration

(Querist) 16 July 2013 This query is : Resolved 
I have lost my original purchase agreement of my flat but have the xerox of the same.Builder did not responded us to issue Duplicate purchase Agreement.I have to pay stamp duty and registration charges yet.

1.) Can i use the xerox for stamp duty and registration procedure?

And if not

2.) What is the solution?

Execute a Sale deed and pay stamp duty and register the same at the earliest.

If registered sale-deed has duly been executed then the relevance of the sale agreement lapses.
