some days ago in delhi a boy oommitted suicide, he was very desolated and dejected in his life so he decided to die and when he was dead then by investigation report it was revealed that for committing suicide he took the help of wikipedia where he had read an article named suicide methods and he followed that method and died. can wikipedia be sued for displaying the method which could be pernicious to an individual?

Many dies mocking advertisements and film stunts,no suit i see comes from any corner i think at least one should be tried for. Wikipedia,though,may not be good target as all of its write ups are written free by those who think they are learned.
You might be thinking i am pro to Wikipedia.But i am thinking why should not we punish HE who along with us also produced poisonous things in nature.
I know your anonymity is still not conveyed with my message.
We are becoming commercial very fast then for every loss caused to us we are looking the damage to be repaired by money.
What should really be probed in this matter
is that why the boy was so depressed that he THOUGHT OF SUICIDE.
As a lawyer my duty is not only to tell out what law is and to drag every one in courts for my community bread and butter.
I do not recall who said but some one very great he was who said"LAWYERS ARE WATCH DOG OF THE SOCIETY"
So i understand my business.That is why i am advising you to look into WHY suicide was committed than to look into HOW it was committed ????????????
i know Dhingra ji will get again confused. Things would not be clear to him,but that does happen when ONE IS not what others suppose ONE.

yes well said by mr prabhakar singh, we are living this world that ruined by the commercial . so We need to seek how it was committed than why suicide was committed.

Why not? You can very well sue Wikipedia, but not in your own country, like India, as its legal jurisdiction is the State of Florida in the United States of America. Further, you should have enough proof against the said site, not the real causes of depression, that would have provoked the boy to commit suicide.
However, unless you go through the contents of that page and the terms & conditions, disclaimers, etc., of the said site, you would just be hitting in the dark.
Further, for your information, wikipedia is not a daily newspaper or a periodical magazine, but an online general knowledge site.

you cannot sue wikipeedia.
further,how are you going to prove that the boy has really read the same and committed suicide accordingly?
