Whether caveat be filed when there is apprehension that the opposite party may file probate application..

yes. you can file a caveat in probate proceedings.

Though you could file caveat but there is no requirement as there is no scope for any interim order in your absence. After getting the summons you can contest the genuineness of the Will anyway
