what is the difference between adjournment and postponement?

Both are having same meaning, but the word adjournment has been used in legal proceedings and the word postponement used in ordinary conversations and writings

In law, adjournment means to suspend proceedings to another time or place, or to end them.

Postponement is a business strategy that maximizes possible benefit and minimizes risk by delaying further investment into a product or service until the last possible moment.
