498 (a) of ipc case

My wife filed a Maintenance case u/s 125 of Cr.P.C it is pending before the court. my wife demanded to withdraw the maintenance case an amount of Rs.5 lakhs, present my position i cannot pay single rupees, she knows very well about my financial position. that too she threatened to me that if not pay an amount demanded by my wife, then she will file a case u/s 498(a) of I.P.C

kindly advise to me, which case i have to file, or which precautions to be taken, to avoid 498(a) case against me and my family.

No advice is possible against a extortion call.
You have ti decide whether to fall prey to her demands or fight the case.
If there is no truth in her allegations then are you so apprehended about 498A case.
Once you get the bail, you win half the battle.
Be a man and put a brave front.

You cannot stop your wife by filing a 498(A), there is no such law to stop. If she filed then you will to go for Anticipatory bail.

WE have no ammunition to provide you so that you can set it as stop against her slapping cases on you,be 498a or DVAct or others.you have two options only;either to surrender or to fight for.

There is no provision to stop filing 498 (A) from anyone wife. If the case is filed then get bail first.

Agree with experts.
Why to pay 5 lacs if you have done nothing wrong.
If you are sure that there is no fault on your side an you have not committed any wrong, then fight the case with all your strength. Merely filing a case does not mean that she will win the case.

What is the guarantee that after finishing the 5 lacs, sho won't ask for more threatening you with 498??
