All India Bar Examination

Dear Experts,

I passded LL.B in 2009 and not registered with the State Bar Council yet, I want to know that, Is all India Bar examination applicable for me if I go for registration as an advocate now.

i think this exam has yet not been notified....u apply for the license immediately...why to delay it.

It is likely to be compulsory from December, 2010. Better register immediately.

August exam now stands post-poned to December. Cross-check with your state's Bar council office or through website regarding the applicability in your case.

The first All India Bar Examination, to be conducted on December 5, 2010 is intended to test an advocate’s ability to practice the profession of law in India. As this is the first time that this examination will be conducted, it will assess capabilities at a basic level, and is intended to set a minimum standard for admission to the practice of law; it addresses a candidate’s analytical abilities and basic knowledge of law.
