Ganot entry in land record

Hello sir,
Our land is situated in mehsana, gujarat.In 1970 our grandfather has given 2.5 acre land for cultivation to pujari of temple as a ganot.but in 1989, under ganot low his name was entered in land record as a owner and ours was removed.
How can we now proceeds further for taking our land back.

Show the document of ganot to a local prudent lawyer for better appreciation, analyses and guidance. By the way what is the "GANOT" as stated by you?
