I HAVE RECD ONE BILL OF TRANSPORTER FOR RS. 18,500/- HE DOES NOT HAVE SERVICE TAX REGISTRATION.

SERICE TAX HAVE TO DEDUCTED AT WHAT RATE.

Yes transporters have to compulsorily have service tax registration with effect from the year 2004.

10.3% is the service tax

Yes, It is mandatory now.

You need not to deduct any Service Tax. Payment of Service Tax is liability of Service Provider and not the Service Recipient.

I am sorry Mr. Vineet. In some GTA services only payment of service tax is also the liablity of the service receipient.
