I want to know if I can purchase the site which is in green belt. What are the consequences and how will I find if the site is in green belt.

Sir, this regarding a plot in Bangalore north, Hesaraghatta, I want buy that plot but I heard that it is under green belt but I am not sure and also in and around the plot I am planning to buy, lot of people are buying and registrations are happening in Gram Panchayat as it comes under gram panchayat. I want to know if its safe to buy the plot. And if I have to find myself if the plot really is under green belt, what is the procedure??
