Inter caste marriage benefits in maharashtra how to apply

Hi All,

My name is Prabhakar Das and I am a Bengali Hindu general cast. I got married in the on August 2011 in Pune and it was a love cum arrange marriage.
Sometime later I was informed by my wife that we can get some benefit from the government with regards to our inter-caste marriage. Hence I have gone to the Public Welfare Department for details. However I was informed that as I am Bengali and I was not born in Maharashtra I can’t claim for this benefit.
I have explained them that I am working in Pune for past 7 year but state way rejected my query.
Please can you help me and let me know the correct process.
