Charge sheet

Plz tell me, Is there any Time Limit for Submitting the Charge Sheet in the Court & Is there any Provision in Cr.p.c to Compel the Police (I.O) Officer for Submitting the Charge Sheet?

There is no time limit to submit the charge sheet. The Police may be directed to submit charge sheet soon but can not be compelled to submit the same in a time frame.

It is responsibility of Police Dept. to frame Charge sheet in time, but it never happened.
