I want to know the different laws which are applicable to an internet website; Indian as well as International laws. Is it necessary to get registered as a news paper?

The main governing legislation is

Information Technology Act, 2000 along with the rules framed there under.

for the content purposes other penal as well as civil laws including intellectual property laws are relevant.

yes its necessary to Register a News Paper.
