Legality of specific pages of c.d. as exibit.

The I/O(Police officer) appearing as prosecution witness, without making a statement, asks the particular pages of the Case Diary be marked as exibit.Is it permissible under the law? Wether yes/no and kindly give the referred IPC /evidence act sections.

No, without making a statement on oath in court he cannot get the said pages of his case diary exhibited.
