Grandmother property dispute: self acquired / joint family / ancestral

(Querist) 09 April 2012 This query is : Resolved
My grandmother had a land in her name in 1984...she expired in 1993......The property is under dispute as several legal heirs are claiming....

The main issue is whther the property is Self-acquired or ancestral or is it purchased from the family funds....There is no proof to substantiate this????

How can any person state that its her self-acquired property?? She had never worked in her lifetime...The payment for purchase of land was given in cash.....Each legal heir is stating that he/she have contributed to her the funds for purchase of property, nobody has any proof.................

In such a scenario does, this property become an ancestrol proeprty or a joint family property....

How can this be proved that this is not her self-acquired property so that all legal heirs (including grandchildren) can claim their rights also...

The property in the given facts shall be treated as self acquired property. It hardly matters whether the purchaser of the property earns any income or not sufficient to purchase the property. Who so ever stands in the title deed of the property is the only person owning it so the property in the hands of your grandma was her self acquired property and subsequent events shall follow accordingly.

Shri Raj Kumar ji,

Should't Divya ask Query in the same thread , as matter is same?? repeating after a year.
dIVYA did not mention cheating of Chacha in this Query??

And there are over 60 Queries !!!

Hope you realise the reason to bring back a year old Query, as it repeated once more TODAY , by same Querist.

This Query was unanswered except by you.
