is there any amendment broght in penalties for void and voidable marriages.is there any amendment in sec 17 of hma in recent years.pls provide information.thanks

SECTION 17 OF HMA deals with punishment for BIGAMY.

THE MARRIAGE LAWS (AMENDMENT) BILL, 2010 proposing to amend GROUNDS OF DIVORCE BY ADDITION OF FEW MORE GROUNDS IN HMA as well as in SMA HAS STILL NOT COME INTO FORCE.

I checked the bare act that there is no amendment in Section 17 since applicability of Act.

and Shri Prabhakar Singh updates news about proposed amendment is still come into force.

These proposed amendments are in Sec 13 of the Act and not in Sec 17 of HMA.
