Registration of Co-operative Society

A Group of Government Employees want to open a Co-operative Society in Gangok, Sikkim. Is it legal for a Govt. Employees to open a Co-operative Society? Any suggestions as to what We can do, We are a group of Employees who want to do some business in group, share the profit and also use the profit money for the welfare of the Society we live in?

YES THE CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY CAN BE REGISTERED AND PERFORMED FOR THE WELFARE FOR THE EMPLOYEES. ALSO GET PERMISSION TO RUN THE SOCIETY FROM THE DEPARTMENT.
