hi sir
my brother running a construction firm in a partnership base and we want to register the name and logo so what we have to do?

here is a difference in registration of a company and registration of a partnership firm. Registration of a company (Private or Public) is done by the Registrar of the companies, in offices situated at a particular place in every state.
While registration of a partnership firm is to be made with the Registrar of Firms at Calcutta through local nodes situated in different cities of a State. That takes about 2-3 months after the Registrar is satisfied that no such firm with the same firm exists.
On the Other hand registration of logo is to be made under Registration of Trademarks that can take 15 to 18 months, provided there is no objection to any person or firm or company about the logo, after observing a long process.
You may first get your firm registered with the help of some local advocate dealing with cases of registration of firms and only after that process is over then start the process of designing and registration of a logo.

You can register the company and the logo in the respective authorities. For this it is better to engage an advocate who is having specialization in IPR.
