Two similar designation can have different policies ?

Hi..
I m Jai

I would like to know that in a particular software firm can two employees having the same degree offered a similar designation by the employer. Is it correct that the company has a different policy for both of them. One has to keep Original document and other not. Is it right according to law ?
Please provide a solution for my query.

There is no fixed Rules and Regulations of the private companies in place.
