Serving after Notice Period

(Querist) 25 February 2011 This query is : Resolved
I have served 50 days notice period as per the request of my previous employer where i need to serve only 30 days mandatory notice period.
My query is whether iam eligible for any extra salary for the additional 20 days service provided by me

Though the additional 20 days service was gratuitous on your behalf,if you could prove that your employer has benefitted from your service then only you can claim for those days service.

Salary is linked to the period of service you rendered to the organization. If you have served for 20 days over and above the 30 days notice period you have the right to claim salary from the organization for that period you serve.

Neither the employer is obliged to pay you extra than the period of service, except for the shortfall in notice period in case of termination, nor he has the right to take service for any extra day than due without paying for that.

i think, you have worked in those 20 days and would already been paid salary of that period. you can not be paid extra salary for the period of alleged extra notice period.
