can any one guide me re: appointment of a marriage registrar in west bengal

Marriage registrar will be appointed by the Govt., The Sub Registrar of Concerned Taluka will act as Marriage Registrar. This is in karntaka State, I think there is also same procedure.

Registrar under Property Registration Act have been empowered all over India to act as registrar of Mariages and the same is position in Bengal.

The Central Government, shall appoint a Registrar General of Marriages, India, while at the state level, a Chief Registrar of Marriages shall be appointed.

The registration set-up would include District Registrar, Marriages as also Registrar, Marriages, the latter empowered to register a marriage contracted or solemnised within the local area under his or her jurisdiction.
