Ews for married woman

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 19 May 2023 This query is : Resolved
I am a working married woman.
So, in that case whose income is calculated for EWS certificate.
Is it husbands alone or husbands income + my income?
We own no property.
Quick Summary
When applying for an EWS (Economically Weaker Section) certificate as a married woman, the total family income is considered. This includes the income of both you and your husband. If the applicant is unmarried, their parents' income is used instead. Owning property does not affect this calculation.

Your husband income and your income together comes under EWS.

Income of both of the spouses shall be calculated.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 21 May 2023
Whenever a man applies for EWS certificate, if he is married then his total family income (his income + his wife's income) is taken into consideration and if he is not married, then his parent's total income is taken into consideration. Similar is the case for a woman.
