Request answer
My mother expired 2016. She has written one of her property ( paddy land of about 87cent) through a registered WILL to my brother .
My brother wants to give that land to me through a will or a registered dociument. Will i be taxed for this land as it is got through brother -mother

A will if executed, that will comes into force only after the death of the Testator(who wrote the Will). If it is a Gift deed the property of the Gift deed may be handedover atonce. It is taxable.

IF the GIFT is from brother to brother or from brother to sister or vice-versa, the same is not taxable.
