this is for experts who have replied to my query- that this is a general query that comes to my mind that if we rely on a document taken from an official website would that be admissible
A V Vishal (Expert) 11 December 2009
MONIKA

It depends on the content of the document you are downloading from the official website. Generally there is a disclaimer clause appended stating that the site is not responsible for the genuineness of the content matter. For example if you take the Ministry of Coporate Affairs website, you can download the filings done by companies wrt to the financial & administrative data. MCA does not vouch/take responsibility of such data, only the company uploading it is responsible for the genuinity of the documents filed.Hence your query that whether we can rely on a document taken from an official website, depends largely on the type of evidence you seek admission before law.

I do agree with Vishal.
