Cyber crime

(Querist) 29 August 2012 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir, my friend has got a mobile call on his mobile from an unknown number and asked whether you have got voucher of additional talktime and he answered, No. then the unknown person told that you have got Rs. 1400 extra talktime. But to get this talktime you should have minimum balance of Rs. 2000 in your mobile. Thereafter believing his words my friend recharged his account by Rs. 2000 and the total balance of his mobile became Rs. 2747. Afterwards that unknown person called up again said press the buttons and do what i say and accordingly as per his direction my friend followed him. But suddenly his account balance was reduced by Rs. 2200 and there was available balance of Rs. 547. Therefore again my friend called up to that person and complained about the same. In reply that person sent a msg stating that your account has been credited with an amount of Rs. 1400 and accordingly the total balance became Rs. 3500. And again he told to follow his direction and accordingly again he followed the same and again the balance of Rs. 500 was deducted. Finally the balace became Rs. 47 only. Therefore pls let me know what action can we take against that person to punish and recover the amount?

he can submit complaint to cyber crime wing with hope of no remedy.

you can complain in local police station or cyber crime cell about the same... once you lodge complain with the help of police you can get the details of your balance transfer issue. you should know that nothing is free in this world..

Dear Manoj,

How do you feel that the case falls within the scope of cyber crime?

Well advised by Shri Kartikeya"

"you should know that nothing is free in this world."

You are fooled.

Majority Police Station are not trained to investigate such crimes.

It is usually a international operation, and untraceable.
Vain is the struggle.
