Consulting water tax

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 30 November 2011 This query is : Resolved
I have recieved a huge water tax from MNC relating to water use for my home construction(domestic not commercial),& I have checked it with others(neighbors).
The tax amount is 68,000/Rs for 3 yrs,but when i checked the record with MNC ward registrar clerk, he says its 10,800/Rs, when I showed him the letter from MNC about huge tax,he said that I have to contact upper officials, and he tells me he does't find anything about the excess amount. The upper officers only redirect me to each other, whereas the date to break my water connection is very close i.e. within 24hrs.
What shall be done inorder to enquire what has happened properly?

you dont get quarterly bills? does it include arrears ?

request for detailed particualrs of the bill . if the MNC has website check the details of your bill on said website

No ,MNC until yesterday did not gave me any quarterly bills, not in the 3yrs of the construction period.
MNC officials even did not give me any reason or explanation as to why and how this much amount is pending, but none of them is denying the fact that this bill is improper or is mistaken ,atleast not until today.
But they have also not contacted me any sort of reply after my inquiry, and they are also not accepting my official letter of request to as why I should pay such a huge amount.

Write a Letter To Municipal authority for error in bill or improper bill u can also inform them that urs is residential user

Also simultaneously request them to issue duplicate bill bcoz ward registrar said to amount of Rs.10800/-

If u get the above amt immediately pay the same

Abhijeet

so past three years they did not issue any bill., you also did not question the same., i thing you thought your municipality providing free water service.,

now while you get total bill you rush to enquiry..

just pay the entire arrears.,

I do agree with Parikh.

File a civil suit, ask for status quo, stay order, not to cut off the water supply, being essential commodity, and at the same time pay Rs. 15000/- as token of your bonafide to pay whatever is correct bill. Let them prove in court the correctness of water bill.

Well,
Thank you very much for your advice Mr Abhijeet Parikh,as per your advice I have posted a letter to the municipal authority along with the details and it seems to have
shed some light on this matter, though the MNC corporals did not gave me any particular reply but they have told me they would investigate on this matter.
If they furthur come out without any proper explanation or without proper record,I will consider Mr V R Shroff's advice.
Thank You all!
