That in one case I am for Defendant, I made an amendment in Written Statment

thereafter on next date the Plaintiff filed an application for adjournment for 'CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENT', in which he did not stated what to amend ?

I objected the same now it is fixed for HEARING

My Query is :-
What is mean by Consequential Amendments ?
pls provided the provisioens and case laws

Right of defendant to amend is liberal while plaintiff do not have such open liberty.Still it will depend on the legal expertise.

Consequential amendment in the given matter means his amended plaint keeping in view the desired amendment in the written statement as sought by you. Such amendment is not legally allowed, however, plaintiff can file his replication if you raise some facts which are entirely new to the case file.
