Clarification : reg registration under socieities act, or the coop act

Dear Sir/Madam

We are a group of friends who want to form a society to purchase a piece of land and develop either individual houses or an apartment complex for our use and if possible for sale, so that we can share in the profits if any
Please advise the appropriate act under which this society should be registered

Societies Registration Act is the only law under which you shall have to get your society registered and further actions shall follow thereafter.
