Death of 2nd holder in jt sb a/c with bank

My mother is 82 years old. My father passed away in 1989. My mother has 2 sons, me and my elder brother. We have no sister. My mother has joint SB Account with my elder brother where my mother is the 1st holder and my brother is the second holder. The purpose of keeping the a/c joint is to have least complications in the event of unexpected death of my mother. The entire outgoing and incoming transactions are on the name of my mother. The a/c is very active due to incoming dividend warrants on the name of my mother and outgoing investment cheques from my mother. My brother has not a single transaction on his name in this a/c. Now the irony of the fate is such that my brother has unexpectedly passed away few days ago in an accident. To get the death certificate from municipal corporation takes 3to 4 weeks. I have following 2 questions
1.Is it necessary to submit the Xerox copy of the DC to the bank and remove my brother’s name from the JT a/c
2.Till such time we get the DC and submit it into the bank can my mother continue to do incoming and outgoing transactions through her a/c
Please guide !

Action from cji

Hi Experts,

I would like to know what happens when anyone sends a letter to the Hon'ble CJI seeking justice?

Suppose a case in the SC was decided on emotional grounds and no merits/de-merits or reasons are mentioned in the order, can one send a letter to CJI to review the judgement.

Does the CJI even look at the letter and give any consideration to the contents especially when the letter is from common man and not a VIP or a celebrity?

Legal expert advise on workplace harassment

I am a Medical officer working under the state government. I had undergone post graduate studies after getting selected from all India examination but I left the course midway because the subject wasn't suited to me.i resigned after paying fines to the college and have rejoined the state service. Now i have been getting explanation call and warning from the government, while my other colleagues who were in the same category as me and had resigned too were not troubled.i had been trying to explain to the authority concerned that i am not the first one or the only one who resigned from course midway, but they try to give me unrelevant answers. What legal steps can I take up in such a situation?

LOI amount refundable

Hello..I need to ask whether LOI amount is refundable ? Actually I signed a LOI with a franshisor company to get there franchisee. The terms of the contract were agreed by both the parties and accordingly I paid him LOI amount, which by the way was written to be NON REFUNDABLE! But the company changed it agreed terms in the written contract, which was non acceptable or in favour of the franchisee? Now when I asked them for refund, they are stating that the amount is NON REFUNDABLE!!
Isn't this case of cheating? Franchisee had full intention of working, he paid Security for outlet and also got the trade license!
Please suggest what to do? Any way I can get my amount back!

Depressed class lands

Dears sir,

We owned DC Land 5.0 acres( The lands assigned to Depressed class people) and we are also the same caste.

In 1976, the said DC Land was acquired under Central Land acquisition act by Government for promotion of some private Industries through SIPCOT (State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited - A Govt. of Tamil Nadu Undertaking)

But now only, it is came to our knowledge
that the lands, once assigned to Depressed class people cannot be used to any other purpose. And also the said DC lands could not be acquired under Central Land acquisition act.

In this juncture, whether we could able to recover the said DC Lands from SIPCOT and what is the procedure.
