Alumini Club in LCI website

(Querist) 05 November 2010 This query is : Resolved
Alumini club can be ported in this website. A simple utility listing Year wise, Statewise, Law college wise, etc details in our country will help all our law college mates to get into personal touch.

Advantages:

1. Professional doubts can be shared.
2. Lost contacts can be restored.
3. Mutual help could be rendered.
4. Encourages more lawyers to participate in LCI
5. Exchange of knowledge would be maximum
6. Membership of lawyers would improve.
7. Would yield the desired commercial results
8. All old students can get together and help out the present students of their Law college to motivate them with the values that we have learnt from the institution and the elite position that we are in because of our teachers.

Page design could be imported from any standard alumini club. I have learnt many class mates in Engineering, Medicine, etc have got together after more than 20 years and re-established their friendship using such weblinks. LCI can initiate steps in this direction. We dont know as to how many lawyers enrolled in this website are our own classmates.

I am confident that it is technically viable and establish a superb value addition to this wonderful site for lawyers and generate productive results to the legal fraternity.

Mr Pathasarthi you have been giving many such good suggestions , well pl just go further deep and why not a new similar site.

This is a good business, the advts appearing on this site are being paid on per click basis by the advertises particularly Google.

Just imagine more than one lac visitors per day on this site., good business proposition.

More ever this site is now mostly invaded by non legal persons dishing out all sort of advices.

That was straight from my heart as I never think on commercial prospects though being a banker myself. That is why all along I have been orchestrating to the learned community to distinguish between Business and Professional Ethics. The concept of Advertisement with legal perceptive put forth my me in this forum should take a good healthy lead with the participation of all eminent experts so that constructive steps could be put forth to re-look the provisions of Advocates' Act and the Regulations imposed by Bar Council of India.

Let us first take a positive step in this direction for academic purpose. All those age-old laws governing usage of Intellectual Capital needs a thorough overhauling in this modern world dominated by Science & Technology. Fortunately I am blessed with a feel of both.

I agree.

So Mr Partha you are not an advocate.
Parthasarathi Loganathan (Querist) 05 November 2010
Being an Officer of a Public Sector Organisation, though I am a Post Graduate in law, our BCI rules and Advocate Act will never make me an Advocate. I hope to take up full time law practice in my second innings when I get opportunity to work with eminent seniors like Shri S.Subramanian with whom I have special respects due to synchronization of many Principles and work Ethics. I need to fit myself into his scheme of things working sincerely and honestly through dedicated hard work to realize my childhood dreams and aspirations emanated out of my passion to stay as an Advocate on the long run where there is no retirement.

Let me patiently wait for that golden period in my career.

Most welcome.

Post graduation is defferant that actual knowledge of law by practice.

Parthasarathi Loganathan (Querist) 07 November 2010
But that is not the issue in this post. We can have a separate debate for that.Without diluting the main point of this thread, may I kindly request Mr.Shashi get back to the main query and post your valuable inputs?(if any) Good Wishes

I think you can enroll your as an Advocate and keep your licence suspended until you are in job. Many Law-graduates of our time did like this. They enrolled themselves as an Advocate and subsequently got jobs. Wrote to the State Council to keep their licence in abeyance until they remain in job. As soon as they resume to be in practice, they just inform the Council to this effect. Please check up this proposition.

Thanks Bhallaji for your guidance. That option is still open. However, let us get back to the query to study all the pros and cons and extend this thread with your valuable inputs so that Admin of this site can work out its technical feasibility for every one of us to derive the benefits including Mr.Shashikumar, our learned eminent Senior Advocate.

There is provision for this in LCI itself.
1U can start ur own community from ur profile page.
2.U can name it as Madras Law college Alumini Club
3.U can invite ur friends for the club
4. U can have all sort of activities whatever u ve listed.
Anyhow, this is fine suggestion
Parthasarathi Loganathan (Querist) 09 November 2010
Good Suggestion indeed. I tried it once in a leading website meant for IT professionals and the results are not encouraging. However, if the same is floated by LCI and kept as a separate link as one of the tab pages, then it will catch attention of all users than visiting a personal community. You can also find the responses grouped in various communities opened in LCI as it catches less attention of the login user. Thanks for your inputs.
