I went to police station near to me home for an issue and the Inspector asking me to pay 20000 Rs/ Is it a acceptable one?

You have not made a mention about your issue. The question arises, whether your issue was legal or illegal?

You may complaint to vigilance department, whatever the issue is, he can't ask money except releasing a person on bail or there is a recovery warrant.

non this demand is not tenable in eyes of law except in some cases like prevention of corruption act

Hello SIR,
My problem was a small (church owned shop),In that we were been tenent from 1940,So my mom geve a internal rent to someone that guy created problem,so we paid the thing what we got from him just 2lakhs,for this matter we were caught him and solved the problem,but we gave the petition nothing to be taken by them,so we only done everything,inspector got the news and asked us to come to the station,we went there, they wouldnt done anything,we itself solved everything,for this simple matter like repay the advance and got back the shop, inspector asking me to pay 20000/. how can i pay? all in the station asking money depends upon the position,Is it right?

Report the matter to the vigilance. They will make a plan to trap the police officer taking bribe.
