sir, my question to the legal experts is that, whether is it possible to give power of attorney for registering release deed and if yes , in what circumstances , and in this case , does the power of attorney needs to be registered......?

Power of attorney if registered in favour of blood relative only then such release deed can be got executed by the holder of such GPA otherwise it is not admissible.

Generally any GPA (General Power of Attorney) need not be registered compulsorily. Registration is not mandatory in view of the judgment of the Supreme court. But it is advisable to register it to avoid any questions regarding the valdity of the GPA in future.

As per your query a GPA can be executed for registering a release deed.

Find attached the SC judgment on this.

If you are not in a position to visit the office of the sub-registrar for various reasons like, out of station, out of India, work-load does not permit you to do so, etc., you may execute General Power of Attorney for execution of release deed and such a GPA need not be registered.
