What is holograph will?

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 18 February 2011 This query is : Resolved
Would the experts kindly inform me

1) What is holograph will
2) Does it has any special importance in comparision to ordinary unregistered will?
3) What is better? To have unregistered holograph will or registered non-holographed will?

Thanks in advance.

A halographic WILL is hand written, dated and signed by the testator himself.
To ensure its validity, it needs to be attested and signed by two witnessess in the presence of each other.
Registration, though not compulsory, lends genuineness to the document as the testator himselt was present before the sub-registrar.
Well to remember, though registered a WILL could be contested and will have to be proved in a court.
