uprooting of trees

In a govt registered residential society, the elected committee has decided to axe some trees - erect, shady & young.
On query, the answer given are:-
- It has been decided by the committee.
- The reasons for decisions cannot be disclosed.
Questions:-
- What are the conditions which are required to be fulfilled before a tree can be axed?
- can a an elected committee of registered residential society take a decision of this nature & callupon private labour to axe the tree present in the colony premise?
- To what extent the Right to Information can be exercised in this case?
Some body who is clear may like to throw light on the issue.

Instead of going for exercising the rights under RTI, Sir better file a complaint before the Range Forest Officer of ur area. To cut the tree Range Forest Officer permission is necessary.
