uniform civil code(UCC)

Could nayone give me a breif explanation about the following??

1)What are the merits n demerits of uniform civil code??

2)About article 44 of constitution with relevant extracts from the parliamentary.

3)About desirability of uniform civil code(UCC) in the matter of marriage ,divorce adoption ,succession laws.

Dear Priya,
the UCC is all full of merits since it implements same and equal family/ personal laws on each of the religion in India. that means if it gets implemented every citizen shall have to comply with and shall have the same rights & duties under family laws which today is based on religious difference of a citizen.
our Constitution makers had proposed that the UCC must be implemented after a reasonable time but still after 60 years of independence it hasnt come into force just because of the political votebank of the leaders.

Uniform Civil Code will solve many problems exists in the current legal system.

Right to equality will be true only on the existence of Uniform Civil Code.
