State Consumer Redressal Commission:

(Querist) 28 May 2008 This query is : Resolved
I have filed appeal against the decision of the District Consumer redressal forum before the State Consumer redressal commission in September 2007, but my appeal petition is yet to be heard as the State Government of Nagaland has not constituted the State Consumer Commission. Please advise me what steps i should take.

A petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution can be filed before the Constitution of India to seek redressal.

Dear Mr. Assumi

Apart from filing a writ petition under Article 226/227, you can also approach the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) which is also available on line, praying for transfer of your Appeal to some other State Commission.

Dear Mr.Rajesh,
Thank you for your comments.Could you kindly give me the NCDRC web site address?

Dear Sirs,
Appeal is a creation of law as such if a procedure is prescibed by law for appeal by the Legislature, we have to follow that without adopting our own procedure, as such will it be really proper to resort to writ power of the High Court?
