Stamp Duty

(Querist) 13 August 2010 This query is : Resolved 
I have purchased a flat in Mumbai (Borivali) in July 2010 and the total stamp duty works out to Rs. 2,38,350 which I have already got registered. My Query is that by mistake instead of 2,38,350, I made a payment of Rs. 2,83,350 i.e. an excess amount of Rs, 45,000/-. How can I claim this amount of excess paid by me.

U may have the stamp duty reassessed , if needed, & claim refund of the excess.
