Scheduled tribe land accused by scheduled caste family

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 21 March 2024 This query is : Resolved
Location-West Bengal. District-Jhargram. The Tribal land has been occupied by Scheduled Castes for a long time. By Sub-caste- Lohar. No, a record with them of occupied land from BL & LRO. Can vacate the occupied land legally?
Quick Summary
In Jhargram, West Bengal, a Scheduled Caste family, identified as Lohar, has reportedly occupied tribal land without official records. The discussion explores the legal avenues available to reclaim this land if the occupation is deemed illegal. It suggests that the aggrieved party or authorities can initiate steps to remove unauthorised occupants, and a complaint with proof to the District Collector could lead to cancellation of the occupation.

If it has been illegally occupied then the aggrieved person or the authority can take steps to eject the unauthorised occupants from the land belonging to the tribal community

If the tribal land is occupied by a SC for a long time, why did no one objected to it to date? You make a complaint with proof to the District Collector. The District Collector has the power to cancel it. But the query seems to be academic.
