RTI application - Address

I am a resident of Gujarat and wish to send a RTI application to Education department in Madhya Pradesh. Is it OK?

Sending the application may not be problem but if the inf.is not supplied you will have to file appeal there.

you can send the application through Registered post with 10/ rs. postal order or demand draft in favor of in-charge information officer

You can send RTI application to any Govt authorities, irrespective of your place of residence.

Yes. You can get information by making an application under the RTI Act from any goverment department of any state irrespective of the fact whether you reside in the same state or in any other state.

The RTI Act 2005 is a central act through which you can get any information from any public authority from any government as per section 6 of the said act.

There is no specific format of application to get information under this act.

Fee Rs.10/- should be paid in the form of Postal Order or DD or cash.
