Query about partnership firm

(Querist) 29 June 2021 This query is : Resolved
My Firm's name is having Co prefixed . Wanted to registered it to registrar of firms. But I am being told that firm's which has CO/ COMPANY prefixed cannot be registered. Please confirm if any such rule is present. What is the way to get it registered??
Quick Summary
A user inquired about registering a partnership firm with 'Co' as a prefix, but was told it's not allowed. It's confirmed that while 'Co' can be used as a suffix (e.g., 'xxxx & Co.'), using it as a prefix is generally not permitted as it can create confusion with company names. The advice is to suffix 'Co.' to the firm's name instead.

You can register it as xxxx & Co. It is not an objection to register as a Firm.

Suffix is permitted but not prefix the words "co"

Prefixing the Co to the company's name would be another name and may not solve your purpose, however you can suffix the Co. to your company's name
