My father expired on 13 March 2012. he was having an a/c in state bank of india opened on 2000. On 2003 he has given nomination and we got it entered on front of passbook in 2003.

Now a/c is having balance of 1 lakh . We approached bank for claim . Though nomination was made on 2003 bank authorities says no nomination is made and no papers available we have to go as per normal no nomination policy

you first get legal heir certificate from tahsildhar officer and submit to the bank thereafter collect the money, this is normal procedure on that.

You can obtain a succession certificate from the court in respect of the money in the said account. The bank will have to release the money.
adv. rajeev ( rajoo ) (Expert) 22 May 2012
You have to apply for the succession certificate in the civil court by filing P & Sc Petition.

Please show them the passbook where nomination was entered. If still they dont oblige, write to the regional Manager or to the Grievance cell of the Bank. You will get results.
