police security of a person accused of a murder

whether police security can be provided to a person whose life is in danger and who is accused of a murder ? Is there any ruling of supreme court regarding this matter?

any person has a right toapply before the concerned police department for protection,in action may even lead to filling of a writ application for police in action

Yes and he has to pay charges for the protection as per law in Andhra Pradesh. The best and cheapest solution is to let him remain under judicial custody then the protection will be given free of cost.
