Name in Birth Certificate as proof.

(Querist) 10 April 2011 This query is : Resolved
The birth certificate (of my son)issued by the municipality does shows the name of myself and my wife in it. Can I produce it as a proof of name for my wife (as all other records of herself is in her name before marriage).
prashant pundhir (Expert) 11 April 2011
It depends upon the authority who is demanding for it as it is not a valid proof of identification but that of age proof(for whom it is issued).Anyway, for the changed sir name of your wife after marriage, give an affidavit regarding that .

Where you need to produce the certificate as proof?
Naresh Kudal (Expert) 11 April 2011
I think Birth Certificate of your child is not valid proof of your wife's identity.

@ Aravinthan,
Thank you for your response.
I like to produce it for getting a PAN Card (as an evidence for "Name to printed on the card" in PAN Card.) for my wife in her name.
