Mortgage

(Querist) 08 May 2014 This query is : Resolved 
Sir, I gave some amount to my friend , he offered mortgage of his property, when we both went to registrar office there we found a OS No traced by registrar office. registrar office people said there is a stay on that property.
my friend said that he purchased that property recently in 2013 but suit was in dated 2011 and suit was on total land but he purchased a bit .
shall I proceed for mortgage? or stop if he make mortgage is it valid ?
