Mact case

(Querist) 18 November 2015 This query is : Resolved
Dear Experts,
This relates to an MACT case of my Father which was filed 5 years ago. Unfortunately, as on date I really don't have any update about the same and my Lawyer has not been forthcoming about the same and all my requests and urges to him has not fructified.

Hence, under the circumstances, how can I find out the status of the case and retrieve the records thereof from the concerned court(MACT-II). I do have the case number with which was shared by him.

Further, will it be possible to retrieve the records from the insurance company, against whom the claim has been filed? If so, how?

1. In case your lawyer is not responding change him immediately.
2. The claimant can inspect the judicial file on application to the Tribunal.
3. If you know the insurance advocate and s/he can let you know status, it would be better.
4. However, insurance counsel is opposing the claimant and may not divulge the position of the case.

Dear Experts,
Changing Lawyer is also in my mind. But since I don't have any status update or records, I was thinking as to how to get the latest on the case and then change the lawyer. and it for this only I asked all of you for guidance.

So any advise on getting the records and copies there of would be highly helpful.

Some courts have been giving status on line, if it is so in your case search online.

If you opt to change lawyer, new lawyer would find the status.
