Is it mandatory to enroll in epf for registering in esic

Our Association is registered under Trade union Act and we are interested in providing ESI to our member workers.

On small question, is it mandatory to enroll for EPF also to get ESI or can we have ESI only?

In my view,---No,it is not a compulsion. Both are separate Acts having their own provisions relating to the applicability.

If the number of your employees is 20 or more than registration in both organizations is mandatory but if the no. of employees is 10 or more but less than 20 then ESI registration is mandatory.
