Income tax refund

Dear Experts,
One of my friend submitted income tax return for the year 2012-13 through a charted accountant. Which is 44ab Case and claimed refund of Rs 4lacks. Till today the assessment is not done and he can’t get refund back. What he can supposed to take further steps. Please advice

Your return is not assessed as the refund claim is of a big amount and it takes time to complete assessment of such returns and also the assessment of returns depend on case to case basis. In your case their may be some problems. It is better to wait for some time or contact your Assessing Officer for further details.
