Gratuity Applicable

I have completed 7 years and more in one of the Private limited company. After 7 years I given the resignation. When I applied for Gratuity, company told me that present will be required at least 240 days and more in a year. Is it true ?

Can any one guide me what I have to do now.

No, it is not true. You are required to complete five years of service. However, in fifth year, if you complete 240 day. you are entitled for gratuity under the PGA. You file your case before Controlling Authority under PGA of your area.
