Hi Experts,
If the case is disposed by court under contested judgement and if it is 2 years old then too police can investigate the case(Case status is also uploaded on the website). This case is related to IPC 420. Can police re-arrest the accused under the same case which is out on bail.

My cousin had been accused in IPC 420 in the year 2012 and he is out on the bail, but in terminal two years case does not proceed to the court since police have not filled the charge sheet till date. When we fitted the case status on the web site of the respective court it shows 'case disposed in the nature of contested judgement' but now he has been named by the police for investigation. Now catch is if the case is thrown out then why the police are addressing for an investigation and are there any chances of rearrest in the event.
