Whether Consumer Forum is competent to sentence a person !

Dear All,

During proceeding before a Consumer Forum if in a fit of rage someone unknowingly commits an Act being considered as contemptuous "my query is as to whether the Consumer Forum CAN INITIATE AND PUNISH SUCH GUILTY PERSON OR IT HAS TO COMMIT THE PERSON TO CONCERNED DISTRICT COURT?

No. Only the high court can proceed for contempt on the refence of the matter to it by the consumer court.
